Facelift
Both comprehensive facelifts and mini facelifts can reduce many of the telltale signs of facial aging, such as skin laxity, jowls, and deep wrinkles and creases. A facelift can also be performed with other facial procedures to further enhance a patient's appearance.
A comprehensive facelift—or rhytidectomy—tightens both the muscles and skin of the face and neck to reduce skin laxity, remove jowls, and soften deep wrinkles and creases.
- Length: Several hours.
- Recovery: Patients may return to work in 2-3 weeks, and may resume more strenuous activities in 4-6 weeks. Patients should avoid steam baths, saunas and sun exposure for several months.
- Results: Improved appearance lasts 5-10 years, depending on patient's lifestyle. Results are affected by continued aging, gravity, and the elements.
